The second stop of the Midwest Climber’s Festival presented by Organic Climbing, Mountain Hardwear, Evolv, Adidas Outdoor and Black Diamond on October 1st, 2016
This event will run in collaboration with the American Alpine Club Craggin Classic and all events will take place at Green Valley Campground.

Bouldering and Trad competition – Saturday, October 1
Registration from 8:00-8:45.
Pad Rental from 8:00-8:45
Rules from 8:45-9:00.
Climbing from 9:00-5:00.
***Scorecards must be back to Green Valley Campground by 5:00 or else a penalty will apply***
Pads will be available to rent free of charge. This will be limited to the number of pads we have available and it will be first come, first serve.
Tours will be available for climbers in the Recreational category. Plan to sign up during registration.
$50 for the AAC weekend pass and either of the competitions
– Weekend pass will include AAC trucker hat, pint glass, beer for 21+, films/slideshows and camping for both Friday and Saturday nights.
Trad comp –
- 2 person teams ~ Cost is per person ~
- Every pitch counts whether it’s lead or followed.
- Every pitch 5.9 and below counts for 1 point.
- Every pitch 510 and above counts for 2 points.
- Climbing will include everything from Darcy’s Buttress to the Watermarks Wall.
Bouldering Competition Categories: Categories and Teams can be decided on the day of the comp during check-in.
~You must compete at both Governor Dodge and Devil’s Lake to qualify for the overall prizes~
Individual – Put together your best possible circuit! – Top 5 boulder problems count towards your overall score in Recreational, Intermediate and Advanced categories.
Team – Climb as many problems as possible with your crew! – Teams of 3 or 4 climbers attempt to finish as many boulder problems as they can. Points will be based on stars this year! The team that collects the most stars wins!
Star Chaser – Climb the best of the best! – Each problem is given a set amount of stars based on quality and whoever gets the most stars wins.
Fastest start to finish ascent of Alpine Club, Beautiful Soup and Keymaker – $100 – Sponsored by Wildside Adventure Sports
First Ascent of “El Parasol” Project – $100 – Sponsored by Focus Boardshop
Trad Trio – First team to complete Sometimes Direct, Alpha Centauri and Watermarks Direct – $100 – Sponsored by Boulders Climbing Gym
Prizes and raffles will be done once scores are calculated.
Overall prizes for the series will be given out after the Devil’s Lake prizes.
